In honor of our veterans, the boys and I read the book Veterans Day (An American Holidays book). It is a non-fiction book made for kids about how Veterans Day came about.
We also made "Thank You" cards for our veterans. Because we are so grateful for all the sacrifices these men and women made to serve and defend our country.
(Excuse the dirty face....we made these after dinner while they were eating a snack of m&ms)
Happy Veterans Day!!

The wreaths are wonderful. I love the added glitter from the stickers. Cards were a great idea too. I started to cards and realized JDaniel won't know what a veteran was.

Looks like they had a blast doing them! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. It is so important to teach them about this at an early age. And that craft is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely! The wreaths came out wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteGreat to remember and be thankful!

Very nice projects - dirty faces, and all! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you made cards. Very cool, I am sure that the Veterans will love them too!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great project for Veteran's Day. I admit that I am not ready to talk to my 4 year old about wars quite yet, so we skipped it this year. Good to know that there is a good book to explain this holiday.
