I have spent the entire day wearing my jammies! Didn't have to go anywhere and didn't feel like doing anything, so I've been wearing the jammies. What's really bad about it, is they are so nasty from wearing them all day (and last night). Just when I thought about changing them, I figured, hell I might as well wait until bed time and take a shower, then throw on new, clean jammies. Talk about a lazy, do nothing day!
I just noticed that I could change colors of the print, LOL! I'm such a ditz, I wonder how long you could do that and I didn't know!!

uh, nothin'
Nick and Nate are playing together. They are filling up cups with water. I asked them what they were doing, as I hear water being poured out of the cups. Nick said "Uh, nothin' mom".
Yeah right!
Yeah right!

Rich's New Car
Fun in the Sun
We went to a friend's house yesterday. They were celebrating the high school graduation of their daughter. It's funny when I think about the fact that the high school graduates this year were born the year I graduated high school. That's right, I'm 36 and graduated high school 18 years ago. I think of the weirdest things.
Here are some pics of the kids in the pool. Rich got in with the little boys. It turns out that Nicholas did rather well in the pool with the vest and arm swimmies. And yes, Rich is wearing his shirt. Not sure, but I think it's because he was self conscious of the scar on his back. Nathan screamed his poor little head off. He didn't really do that at the other pool. But I think it was a combination of Rich being there and having to wear that vest and swimmies that made him freak out. At any rate, Nathan always did hate being in water. He has never really liked baths or anything like that. He's the only one out of all the kids though. So I guess one out of six isn't bad, huh?

Sarah's Day
The story behind Sarah's day, is that for Mother's Day the kids made their usual homemade school made gifts. Sarah's was ruined when Nathan found it and played with it. Rich told her he would take her to buy something for me, but never had the time. On Mother's Day, Rich had Sarah make me a card and he gave her $20 to put in it and had her say that it was for her and I to go the movies together. I had planned to take her around that time, but with work being crazy and things out of control at home, we never used it. Finally, in June when things slowed down after baseball season I told her we could go to the movies and use her money. But there wasn't anything really good playing. A few weeks ago, we found out that there was an American Girl Doll movie coming out on July 2. Sarah decided that was the movie she wanted to see. And it looked like something I would like to see as well.
Today, Sarah and I finally got to use my Mother's Day present. We went to see Kit Kittredge. It was a really good movie. I actually thought my whole family would like it. It's definitely something I would buy on DVD when it comes out. It had a very good storyline. It almost made me cry in a few places. It was funny and entertaining. If I were a movie critic, I would give it two thumbs up.
Something kind of funny happened afterwards. We went to the restroom and while we were washing our hands and leaving the restroom, I saw a woman with toilet paper stuck in the back of her pants. It looked so staged! I never actually someone do that before so I was in, I guess you could call it shock. LOL! I just couldn't open my mouth to say anything to her. If it wasn't intentional then I surely hope someone said something to her. LOL! Still laughing! But come on really, she even looked in the mirror. She had to know. LOL!
We walked around the mall awhile, then went to McDonald's. I had a really nice time. On the way home, Sarah thought she lost her DS (Nintendo DS). She thought she put it in the glove box of the van, but it wasn't there. After frantically looking for it, I finally pulled the car over and we searched the whole car. I found it in the center divider. She forgot she put it in there. I was almost as panicked as she was.
All in all I really think she enjoyed herself. And I realize I don't spend enough time doing individual things with my children, there never seems to be enough time. I mean I do try to take a few of them with me on errands and such. Even though most of the time I just want to go by myself and get things done faster. But after seeing her reaction and really getting to spend quality time with her, I think I will definitely have to take more time and plan things like this with all the children. Did I mention how much fun I had?

Making cupcakes
Such a sweet boy
I need to go to the store really bad, but I don't have any cash on me and Rich (who usually always has cash on him isn't home), so I told the kids they would have to wait for milk and bread.
Nicholas got out his wallet and handed me his money all 6 cents of it and told me I could use it to buy milk and bread. What a sweet little boy I have. God love him!

Pool Party
The kids were invited to a pool party this evening. They had alot of fun! Nathan and Nicholas started out in the kiddie pool. Nathan wanted to go down the little slide in the kiddie pool. When he landed in the water, it freaked him out. So Sarah came over and played with him and Nicholas. She wanted to take him to the shallow end of the bigger pool. This time it was my time to freak out. I can't swim and I haven't gone in a pool or any type of water in years. Amanda and Anthony can swim, but the other kids aren't great swimmers, so it makes me nervous when they are in the pool. But all the kids took turns playing with Nathan. Nicholas did really well in the shallow end.
They were happy they got to swim. Nathan started to get cold, so I took him out and changed him and gave him a snack. The poor kid was shivering so bad. After they were done swimming they wanted to go to the playground. So I took them there (only a few pics came out from that adventure). Later, Amanda asked if we could go to the Dairy Queen, she would pay. Her little summer job is paying off and she always did like buying things for her little siblings. It was a really nice day!

Laundry for a family of eight
This is what laundry for eight people looks like (three days worth - about ten baskets, and a pile of blankets)

A basket of just socks that needs folded

There is something wrong with both of my dryers. One is making this God awful squealing sound when it's running. I stopped using it because I couldn't stand listening to that screeching. I was using the other one, but that one was doing the job of two washers. It started to act all funny too. It wasn't drying the clothes properly. After burning through about 5 or 6 dryers since I've been married, Rich bought the extended warranty for this new one. I called Lowe's because I was going crazy trying to keep up with all this laundry. The man came out and looked at it, turns out it was backed up with lint.
It's a miracle the house didn't burn down with all that lint in there. The man said that Rich would have to clean it all out. So Rich took it apart and guess what it's still sitting there, unusable. He never was like this before. When he started a project, he wouldn't stop until it was complete. But anymore, it just hard on his back to do too much at a time, so now we have all these half started projects all over the house. LOL! Never thought I'd be one of those wives with their house full of half done projects. But I am.
I had about three days worth of laundry to do and thought I would just wash them at home, just about the same thing as a laundry mat with two washers anyway. And then go to the laundry mat to dry all the clothes. As I was washing clothes at home, I had Amanda stay at the laundry mat to use the dryers. We had a pretty good system going. After about two trips back and forth to the laundry mat, I thought I was done, but when I got back there was a whole bunch more clothes in the laundry room. The kids decided to just throw everything they had in the laundry, so I had more clothes to wash.
Keep in mind, this was just 3 days worth of things. I ended up making about 6 six trips to the laundry mat, and used about $12 worth to dry everything. It's been three days and I still don't have my dryer to use. I really hope he gets it cleaned out, so I can use it, I don't want to have to go through the whole laundry mat thing again. But one more day and it's going to be out of hand.
