D is for Duck

Today, we practiced writing the letter D.  We did two duck craft projects (coloring, glueing, cutting and painting, etc.).  And read two books about ducks that we borrowed from the library.  I found the craft ideas at first-school.ws and Enchanted Learning.

Our books were called Do Like a Duck Does by Judy Hindley and Danny, the Duck with no Quack by Malachy Doyle and Janet Samuel.

For this craft we painted a paper plate yellow.  Traced Nathan's hands on yellow paper and cut out a yellow circle for the head.  Glued on some wiggly eyes and used orange paper for the beak and feet.

He LOVED playing with this duck.  LOL! I had to make him give it to me, so the glue could dry.
