A Whale of a Time......(a stART project)

I'm the Best Artist in the Ocean by Kevin Sherry

We found this book at the library (we love libraries, as proven by how many dues we end up paying lol).  It was a very simple read and had cute pictures.  Nathan loved how the book opened up at the end.

Where else is there to draw when you are in the ocean?

I taped together all the blue construction paper I could find.  Amanda drew this big beautiful whale and then cut it out for Nathan to draw on.

Nathan had a blast drawing and coloring.

I'm joining up with A Mommy's Adventures and stART.  Check it out for more great story ideas and great art projects.

Great whale! You're really brave to hang it on the wall for him to color - I don't think mine would have stopped with the whale :)

That is one book I wish we had. It sounds like wonderful book to read. I enjoyed the idea you had of drawing on a large whale and think it was great that you hung it on the wall for your son to draw on.

How cute! I haven't heard of this book before so I may have to pick it up. My little guy doesn't like drawing for some reason (which baffles my architect/artist hubby and the graphic designer side of me). I'm hoping to change that!

My kids would have been tempted to liven up that wallpaper as well. What an excellent whale!

Man my kids would love this! But, having already cleaned off too much marker off the wall, I'd probably have it on the table or the floor.

Loved your Library dues comment - we always have those too!! I think it's a good sign when the librarians know your name, your kids names, their ages, and what their last project was! (And are able to tell you what new library books your kids will love).

The whale is fantastic. I showed my youngest who wants to have a go, too. Guess what we'll be doing tomorrow?
