I'm the Best Artist in the Ocean by Kevin Sherry
We found this book at the library (we love libraries, as proven by how many dues we end up paying lol). It was a very simple read and had cute pictures. Nathan loved how the book opened up at the end.
Where else is there to draw when you are in the ocean?
I taped together all the blue construction paper I could find. Amanda drew this big beautiful whale and then cut it out for Nathan to draw on.
Nathan had a blast drawing and coloring.

Wow, he must have been working on that for a looongg time from the looks of the last photo. Love the whale!
Great whale! You're really brave to hang it on the wall for him to color - I don't think mine would have stopped with the whale :)
That is one book I wish we had. It sounds like wonderful book to read. I enjoyed the idea you had of drawing on a large whale and think it was great that you hung it on the wall for your son to draw on.
How cute! I haven't heard of this book before so I may have to pick it up. My little guy doesn't like drawing for some reason (which baffles my architect/artist hubby and the graphic designer side of me). I'm hoping to change that!
Amanda is GREAT at drawing whales!! And I am IMPRESSED that nathan DID NOT draw on your wall paper!!! Love the end result! Great!
My kids would have been tempted to liven up that wallpaper as well. What an excellent whale!
What a wonderful whale! The book sounds like a lot fun. We visit the library a lot too.
WOW! LOVE THIS!!! What an awesome share! Thx so much! he looks SO HAPPY! You have a new follower!
Your daughter did a great job making that whale! You seriously do so many great things with your kids.
You look like you have a very happy homelife.
Charming posts, thank you. And the blue whale is lovely.
He did a great job coloring/drawing on the whale. It looks like a cute book too.
That looks like a good book, and I love that you photographed your son holding it. Good idea. Wow, I am very impressed with the whale she drew! Fun.

Man my kids would love this! But, having already cleaned off too much marker off the wall, I'd probably have it on the table or the floor.
Looks like fun was had by all. Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!
Loved your Library dues comment - we always have those too!! I think it's a good sign when the librarians know your name, your kids names, their ages, and what their last project was! (And are able to tell you what new library books your kids will love).
The whale is fantastic. I showed my youngest who wants to have a go, too. Guess what we'll be doing tomorrow?
Kudos to your courage in letting him use markers while it's hanging up!!
Looks like a cute book :)
What a great fancy whale. I love how Nathan didn't color on the walls.
