Our Crafty Weekend

Since I had the weekend off, I decided to make some crafts with the kids.  Nathan was literally begging me to do a project with him.  Poor boy! It makes me feel bad that I can't do this every day anymore.  But, we are making the best of it by making some super fun stuff.

Our first project was Paper Plate Ghost Windsocks

We took plain white paper plates and painted scary ghostly faces on them (or in Nathan's case, made them friendly happy faced ghosts - Casper, anyone?).

While the paint was drying, we traced hand prints and part of the arm on white paper and cut them out

Next, we flipped the plates over and glued the hands and arms to the insides of the plate

We also took white crepe paper streamers and glued them to the inside of the bottom of the plate.

We took some yarn and glued that inside on the top to make a loop for hanging it.

And then stapled two plates together....so that each side had a face and hands.

And then we hung them up

Aren't they adorable? Super cute for Halloween!

We also made Paper Plate Faces (Monsters, Witches, Pumpkins, etc.)

This one is as simple as it sounds....Paint some paper plates purple, green, orange, etc.

Then we cut out lots of different shapes and yarn (for the witch's hair).  Hats, patches, eyes, mouths, noses, etc.  And decorated the plates (after they were dry of course).  This didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but they had fun, nonetheless.  And that's what really counts!

I'm  not sure what this is supposed to be, but he was quite proud of it!

Mummy Pumpkin?? I don't know....

Oh so crafty! I really thought the monster paper plates were so cute and maybe something this un-crafty mama can handle. (emphasis on maybe)

Thanks for the great craft idea, my little boys would love this! I also have 4 boys, and just one girl although she would have LOVED it if I could have given her a siter like you have. She begs me all the time to "please just have one more and try really hard for a girl." LOL. Visiting from SITS, I am in your tribe!
